Arena Racing Banquet Honors Winners
Grand Rapids, MI Apr 17, 2009 – Arena Racing Grand Rapids capped off its’ inaugural season with the Pennzoil Platinum Cup Series Driver Awards Banquet presented which was held Friday night at the English Hill Terrace in Comstock Park, drivers, crew members, families and car sponsors were in attendance to honor the 2009 award winners.
Kelsey Steele wins Young Guns Race At Berlin

Kelsey Steele, a 14-year old West Catholic sophomore, made history twice before approximately 4,300 fans when the 2009 season opened Saturday night. Not only did Steele become the youngest driver to win a feature, but she is believed to be the first female in the track's 59-year history to win a main.

Arena Racing â„¢ Grand Rapids Announces Title Sponsor
02/20/2008: Grand Rapids, MI. – Arena Racing ™ Grand Rapids announced Wednesday that the 10 Minute Oil Change Centers of West Michigan, an entity of Pennzoil, will become the title sponsor of the Arena Racing ™ Series in Grand Rapids. The Series will be named the Pennzoil Platinum Cup Series and will begin in the Fall of 2008.
The agreement gives the 10 Minute Oil Change Centers of West Michigan the exclusive rights to tie its brand to the newest motorsports in the West Michigan area. The 10 Minute Oil Change Centers of West Michigan will enjoy the support of the most brand-loyal fans in all of sports. The series features 15 races starting in October of 2008 continuing through March of 2009. All 15 races will be held at the DeltaPlex Arena and Conference Center and $10,000 will be awarded to the Series points champion.

In Arena Racing â„¢, driver's race real, one-half-scale stock cars capable of speeds up to 100 mph outdoors on a custom designed, high-banked indoor track. Each individual Arena Racing â„¢ series event includes up to four qualifying heats and four "main" races, as well as a Top Dog championship race. That's up to nine races per night, with a minimum of seven races guaranteed.
Since this is "spec class" racing, every car must adhere exactly to league rules for build and performance. This ensures that no team has a mechanical advantage and makes the skill of the drivers, the crew chiefs and the spotters the difference between winning and losing.
 Arena Racing ™ drivers range from up-and-coming professionals to weekend speed-junkies looking to live a dream. They include professionals, fully sponsored by some of the biggest names in the game.
Each season features 15 racing events, with up to nine races per event, and a season ending points championship worth more than $35,000 to the series' top drivers.
